STUDENT DISCIPLINE WORKSHOP

When and Where: KSB will host a Student Discipline Workshop on Wednesday, August 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost will be $500/school. The workshop will be conducted via Zoom unless there is interest in an in-person option. All registrants will receive a copy of the slides, materials used in the workshop including sample forms for the required procedures, and sample student discipline policies and checklists for administrators to use when discipline issues arise.
What We'll Cover: In this workshop we will be covering the Student Discipline Act and go over the changes in the law from LB 705 of the most recent Unicameral session. Attorneys from KSB will review the requirements of Nebraska law and address discipline in areas such as extracurriculars, Section 504, and the special education world. We want to cover the Student Discipline Act in a comprehensive and practical fashion. This will include training that will equip you to be a hearing officer. We want you to leave with a clear understanding of the legal requirements and have useful materials to use when student discipline issues arise.
